Use of the Service

Chored is an AI-assisted household coordination service delivered via SMS and a web interface at chored.ai. You must be 13 or older to hold an account. A parent or guardian must set up and manage accounts on behalf of minors.

SMS Communications

By adding a phone number to a Chored household, the account administrator confirms they have obtained prior express consent from that number's owner to receive automated SMS messages from Chored. Messages include household task reminders, schedule updates, and notifications relevant to the household.

Opt out: Reply STOP to any message to immediately unsubscribe. One confirmation message will be sent; no further messages will follow.

Message frequency varies by household activity (typically 1–10 messages per day).

Carrier charges: Chored does not provide or subsidize a mobile carrier plan. Each family member must have a phone on an active SMS plan capable of sending and receiving standard text messages. Messages sent to Chored are outbound SMS from the sender's phone and may be charged by their mobile carrier at standard rates. Message and data rates may apply. Most modern US carrier plans include unlimited SMS, but Chored makes no guarantee about carrier charges for any individual or carrier, including international numbers.

Subscriptions & Billing

Chored offers monthly and annual subscription plans with a 14-day free trial. Billing is processed by Creem (our Merchant of Record), which handles all payments, tax collection, and receipts on our behalf. No payment card data is stored on Chored servers.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page inside your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then. We do not issue partial refunds for unused days in an active billing period. SMS add-ons: One-time message top-ups are non-refundable once any credits have been consumed. Unused credits remain on your account while your subscription is active.

Acceptable Use

You may not use this service to send unsolicited messages, harass others, or violate any applicable laws. Chored reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that misuse the service.

AI Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. AI-generated responses may occasionally be incorrect. Always verify important scheduling or financial information independently.

Service Discontinuation

We reserve the right to discontinue or shut down Chored at any time. If we elect to permanently shut down the service, we will provide at least 30 days' written notice to the email address associated with your account.

In the event of a permanent shutdown, subscribers on a paid monthly or annual plan will receive a pro-rata refund of any prepaid subscription fees covering the period after the shutdown date. One-time SMS add-on credits that remain unused at the time of shutdown will also be refunded. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 14 days of the shutdown date.

Temporary outages, maintenance windows, or discontinuation of individual features do not constitute a shutdown and are not subject to this refund policy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
